Religious Education

Religious Education, Spiritual Development

As a Catholic school within the Mercy tradition, a commitment to nurturing a reflective and committed religious faith is an integral dimension of our school ethos. St Vincent’s offers religious education as an examination subject to Junior Certificate and to Leaving Certificate students with a view to promoting a deeper understanding of our Christian Faith within the context of world religions.

Each student is offered an opportunity to prepare and participate in liturgical celebrations, which mark key moments in the life of the Christian community. Retreat programmes, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Christmas and Lenten Liturgies are organised to facilitate our students in their journey as women of Faith.

The challenge of the Gospel to create a more just society is responded to in numerous ways whether through participation in Young Social Innovators or by involvement in the many fund-raising events for local and international charities.
