Activities

In St. Vincent’s we believe that co-curricular and extracurricular activities are an important part of the holistic development of each student. We encourage all our students to become actively involved and we offer a wide range of activities to suit all tastes.

In St Vincent’s we believe that extracurricular activities are an important part of the holistic development of each student. We encourage all our students to become actively involved and we offer a wide range of activities to suit all tastes.

Every year we try to tailor our extracurricular sport to suit our students’ interests and talents.  Usually it includes cross-country running and athletics, basket ball, soccer, gymnastics club, Gaelic football and badminton, where our teams continue to achieve provincial and national success.

Music is also very strong in the school with extracurricular choir and of course the orchestra.  Students can also avail of individual tuition from our experience music tutors.

Our debating teams continue to go from strength to strength, in both English and Irish.  Our successes over the recent years included winning the Louth Co Council ‘Great Debate’ three years in a row.

Last year our First Year students were particularly successful in Science competitions, for example taking category awards and also the National Junior Award at the Scifest Exhibition in Dublin.

There are a number of other clubs in the school that First Years can join.  These include our Bridge Club and our very popular Irish Club.
